Meet the face behind Messy Feast

Hey! My name is Egle. I’m a freelance copywriter and an avid lover of improv theater, who has recently discovered a passion for cooking. I’ve spent the past 4 years living in sunny Tenerife, where I discovered my passion for Spanish and European foods and cooking. From humble beginnings of destroying my kitchen and messing up countless meals, I started to experiment with different flavors, tastes, colors, products, spices, and herbs. Slowly, cooking became my hobby and passion.

I can’t wait to share all my favorite recipes, ideas, and cooking tips with you. Although I love food from all around the world and there’s no cuisine I shy away from, Messy Feast is all about simple and delicious European foods and dishes. Skanaus!

Southern Europe offers some of the best seafood in the world. In Italy, people traditionally eat a lot of different pasta variations, fish, meat, and vegetable dishes. In Spain, you would find rice and potato dishes, as well as lots of plates made out of legumes, vegetables, and traditional sausages and cheeses.

What is Europe’s most popular food?

When you think of Europe, you probably imagine plates of spaghetti and pizzas. But European food is much more than that. Here, you’ll find diverse dishes in every country.

What food is famous in Spain?

Spain is a large country, and each region here has its own staple dishes. In the Canaries where I live, goat meat and cheese are on most restaurant menus. In Seville, tapa culture is rich in flavors, types, and traditions. The capital, Madrid, is famous for its Spanish tortilla.
